Should I be more disturbed or giddy at the sight of this?

I don’t even know what these are. I’m guessing they’re actual ROMAINE — it’s starting to click that all this time, the Romaine I knew was only the heart. So maybe this is the whole behemoth of a body… I think, sadly, I am sheltered when it comes to produce.

I could be way off here since I can’t see any type of signage for it but the base and type of leafs makes it look more like a type of asian cabbage then a head of romaine lettuce. Here is a picture of a head of leafy romaine lettuce. http://www.all-creatures.org/recipes/images/i-lettuce-romaine.jpg

That is it, I couldn’t think of the name but you are right in saying it’s Napa.
