Strawberry shortcake. I recently made shortcakes with fresh whipped cream, berries (rasp, black, straw), and a balsamic glaze. I’ll never make a plain strawberry shortcake again, but Smitten Kitchen‘s picture was more enticing than my own photography. Scalloped edges, cornmealy biscuits, succulent berries: definite go.
