The adage goes that a neighbor’s primary purpose is to be there whenever you need to borrow sugar. If this is true, my neighbor is even better: O’Delice, a French bakery, supplies perfect, plump nuggets of brioche, an ideal balance of soft, pliable dough and ethereal golden-brown exterior, with a sugar sprinkling on top that I like more for the gritty texture than for the extra shot of sweetness. My favorite way to eat this treat is to pop it in the toaster for something of a brioche brûlée.

Hi, R.! I’ve followed you from a mutual friend’s facebook page and just want to say that these goodies are all so fantastic! I’m sure you’ll make it to your dream! ^_^ Very nice blog; good luck keeping up with it at Brown~
brioche “grillée” or “toastée” or “passée au grille-pain” but not “brûlée” (it means “burned” !)
