Pretty please try coconut oil next time! It adds a sweet flavor that’s simply perfect when paired with an egg. You may never go back to EVOO, serrrrrriously.

I adore fried eggs…on a piece of Ezekiel toast that’s been soaked in the oil. Daddy used to make the best fried eggs on the planet. Maybe he still does. I’m going to try it your way, though I usually like them cooked in butter. I just wish Derek would consider eating eggs for dinner. Sigh.

Wow! Quite a step up from my recent trip to Burger King and I didn’t even get to see the King dance.Live ants? The weirdest fare I’ve ever heard of is the eating of live baby birds, in France as I recall. It’s supposed to be a .delicacy. They eat some pretty unusual stuff in the Pacific rim countries but I don’t think the tab runs in the neighborhood of $450. Some of that stuff would gag a maggot. Regardless, I envy you your experience.

Hi Neil! It was in kroner, but I think with exchange it was ~$450. Aka the most expensive thing I’ve ever bought for myself… bye-bye, summer savings! Worth every penny, though. What an experience.

I just came here looking for broccoli stem recipes and now here’s all this tantalizing insanity. It particularly hurts, because I walked right past that restaurant this summer without knowing what lay inside, and had a perfectly ordinary meal nearby.

Anyway, you write artfully about food. This made me forcefully hungry despite having eaten a big dinner.
